Pharmacy Technician Job Description

CASUAL - AS NEEDED

As a Pharmacy Technician at INDEPENDENCE HEALTH SYSTEM INC, you will play a vital role in generating the flow of prescriptions by preparing medications for dispensing and achieving the optimum in customer relations.

Key Responsibilities:

Education and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of Pharmacy Technician program (preferred)

Experience:

  • One year of Pharmacy Tech experience OR no experience required if a graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program
  • Two years experience in a growing pharmacy, servicing and selling over-the-counter medications and related products (preferred)

Other Requirements:

  • Responsible to safely access, transport, and handle single dose medications to include prescription and non-prescription medications
  • Responsible to safely access, transport, and handle sharps, such as needles, suture kits, lancets, syringes, etc.
