IT Database Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Database Professional to join our team at the University of Georgia. As a key member of our Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining data Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) routines for data import and export.
Key Responsibilities- Develop ETL routines for data import and export using various tools and technologies, including AWS Services and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Analyze data in source format and understand source data types, schema, and ontology to accurately match with concepts in destination data formats.
- Develop queries to summarize data for use in data reports and value-added export, working collaboratively with programmers to deliver reports to users online or through scheduled report delivery.
- Perform routine debugging, quality control, and quality assurance for both data products and automated routines, ensuring high fidelity between source data and downstream products.
- Document current routines, research alternative methods, and determine the most effective solutions for meeting end-user expectations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with sufficient experience to show competence and innovation in application development.
- Two or more years of experience in developing ETL and reporting workflows.
- Familiarity with AWS Services, Microsoft SQL Server, and spatial data, as well as proficiency in SQL, Python, or other ETL-related languages.
