Compensation: $16.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

The Transportation Specialist serves as the main liaison with donors, responsible for the acceptance and transportation of non-cash contributions. This role encompasses all driving duties for the vehicles and equipment utilized at the designated operational center. Additionally, this individual may assist in the management of the Thrift Store as required. The Transportation Specialist reports directly to the Thrift Store Manager and is eligible for overtime compensation.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A high school diploma or GED is mandatory. A valid driver's license must have been held for a minimum of three years. At least two years of relevant experience is preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are representative of the various tasks performed in this role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed:

  1. Familiarity with the entire process of handling non-cash donations.
  • Collects and transports donated items.
  • Issues accurate and clear non-cash receipts to contributors.
  • Handles incoming inquiries regarding scheduling local non-cash pickups, demonstrating high-quality communication skills.
  1. Ensures proper maintenance of all assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Conducts or oversees preventive maintenance.
  • Maintains the appearance and upkeep of vehicles and equipment according to organizational standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper vehicle registration.
  • Keeps accurate monthly vehicle driver logs.
  1. Transports necessary items between programs as needed, ensuring all safety measures are adhered to during transport. Assists in large-scale donation drives as required.
  2. Contributes to the operations of the Thrift Store.
  • Assists in maintaining the premises and surroundings.
  • Receives, organizes, repairs, cleans, and prices items for sale as necessary, aiding in the upkeep of the thrift store warehouse.
  • Operates checkout lanes, including running registers, as needed.
  • Performs administrative tasks as required.
  1. Represents Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches and Sheriffs Ranches Enterprises positively to donors, customers, and the public, providing exceptional customer service.
