We are seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Client Support Specialist within our residential treatment program aimed at assisting individuals facing challenges related to substance use and mental health.
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as a Client Support Specialist. However, the individual may also be required to fulfill the essential duties of a Counselor as necessary. These responsibilities encompass a variety of functions including, but not limited to, client screening, intake processes, assessments, orientation, individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Exemplify healthy and ethical behaviors in all interactions, adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
- Coordinate treatment resources effectively to address the needs of program participants.
- Identify specific areas of need and involve family support when appropriate.
- Facilitate the provision of treatment services, both in-office and in the community, through case management, individual counseling, group processes, and educational sessions.
- Collaborate with external service providers to monitor and support participant service requirements.
- Deliver safe, effective, timely, and participant-centered interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services rendered in accordance with agency standards and relevant regulations, ensuring clarity and timeliness.
- Assist in transporting participants to and from external appointments as needed.
- Support the full utilization of service units, including case management, as directed by supervisory staff.
- Help participants with applications for benefits such as SSI and MediCal.
Additional Requirements
- Current registration as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor with a state-approved certification agency (must achieve certification within five years of initial registration).
- Preference for non-smokers.
- Familiarity with 12-Step programs and philosophies.
- Current certifications in CPR and First Aid.
