ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF A LINE COOK:

1. Arrives on time, dressed in the appropriate uniform, and ready for the assigned position as per the schedule. Maintains cleanliness and adherence to hygiene standards throughout the shift.

2. Prepares the station with all necessary food items, equipment, and supplies required for efficient operation. Reports any issues to the Chef promptly.

3. Collaborates with kitchen staff in food preparation and side tasks as directed by the Chef, ensuring adherence to established recipes and standards.

4. Prepares and cooks food items to meet company specifications, ensuring a superior dining experience through proper timing and presentation.

5. Checks stock levels of ingredients and supplies before the shift, maintaining adequate par levels and communicating discrepancies to the Chef.

6. Accurately prepares and plates salads and desserts, ensuring all items meet the restaurant's quality and presentation standards.

7. Coordinates with food runners and expeditors to ensure timely service of all dishes.

8. Rotates and restocks pantry items and supplies throughout the shift to maintain sufficient inventory levels.

9. Upholds the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the work area, including countertops and storage units.

10. Completes all duties while adhering to safety protocols and promptly reports any unsafe conditions or incidents to the Chef.

11. Effectively performs closing duties at the end of each shift and assists the Chef on duty.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR LINE COOK:

• At least 6 months of experience as a line cook or prep cook in a full-service, upscale dining environment preferred.

• Familiarity with fresh ingredients is preferred.

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

LINE COOK JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Capacity to stand and maintain mobility for up to eight hours.

• Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching required.

• Ability to taste and distinguish flavors and aromas.

• Must be able to work in environments with extreme temperatures and noise.

• Compliance with safety regulations, including the use of cut gloves.

• Good personal grooming habits are essential.
