Job Title: Assistant Director, Lifelong Learning

The Assistant Director of Lifelong Learning is a key member of the Alumni Relations team at Brown University, responsible for leading and managing a team that delivers experiential, immersive, and lifelong learning experiences for alumni and faculty. This role involves developing and executing programs that foster a sense of community and connection among Brown alumni, while also promoting the university's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Lifelong Learning program, including the Alumni Travel program and other initiatives that promote experiential learning and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and alumni to design and deliver high-quality programming that meets the needs and interests of Brown alumni.
  • Manage a team of professionals responsible for executing program logistics, marketing, and evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, alumni, and campus partners.
  • Ensure that all programs and initiatives align with the overall Alumni Relations and Advancement strategy.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a related field, such as project management, event planning, educational travel, higher education, or nonprofit.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to think strategically, manage multiple projects and priorities, and meet ambitious deadlines.
  • Facility with budget management, budget forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google suite of tools, as well as experience with web and email technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Supervisory experience and knowledge of Brown University and/or higher education.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, including experience in identifying and emphasizing diverse perspectives in programming and communications.
