Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project/Program Manager II to join our Capital Division team. As a key member of our Project Management Office (PMO), you will play a critical role in shaping the division's standard management practices and systems that support the capital program's planning, delivery, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage databases (Airtable) and SharePoint libraries.
  • Make or modify tools, systems, processes, standards, reports using software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Airtable, or Power BI.
  • Respond to inquiries about procedures, processes related to PMO or Division operations.
  • Assist with developing work plans, training, cost estimates, and monitoring progress for PMO activities.
  • Conduct data gathering, generate informational reports through queries and other data manipulation, and provide written reports and presentations on findings.
  • Advocate for the PMO to others and promote PMO services and products.
  • Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to document and develop best practices.
  • Work with project teams to resolve team disputes and build consensus.
  • Provide technical support on program and ad hoc teams.
  • Assist in modifying or developing processes, document and track reviews or comments on processes, procedures, standards, or systems related to the PMO's work.
  • Conduct research and apply to new or existing processes, tools, and concepts.
  • Setup, organize, and maintain files based upon established group, SharePoint, and County's records management requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise to perform research, analysis, and prototype new solutions.
  • Assist in the preparation of regular or ad hoc reporting.
  • Perform other duties and related tasks, as assigned.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or combination of experience and education that provides the applicant with the skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the work.
  • Two years of experience in a project/program management role or closely related field.
  • Proficiency using programs such as SharePoint, Word, Excel, Airtable, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Data/Information Management, Process Management, and/or Knowledge Management concepts.
  • Demonstrated applied knowledge of Project Management techniques and/or concepts.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to complete tasks or assignments within specified deadlines.
  • Ability to work well and respectfully and establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of individuals from a variety of different positions and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience working with teams in establishing and documenting standard process.
  • Demonstrated experience training others on standard processes.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Familiar with Project Management Institute (PMI) practices and/or hold a certification.
  • Specialized training in process improvement and/or hold a certification.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles, including a good understanding of Project Management Institute Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
Work Environment

The work associated with this position will be hybrid with a combination of teleworking and onsite work as needed. The office location is at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St., Seattle, WA). Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance of their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

Work Schedule

The work week is normally 40 hours, Monday through Friday. Alternative work schedules may be possible. This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and therefore is eligible for overtime pay. Occasional work may be required during evenings and weekends.
