Position: Plant Manager

Compensation: $130,000 (subject to experience)

Location: Austintown, OH

Role Summary:

The Plant Manager oversees the manufacturing operations and related activities within the facility, ensuring a safe working environment while implementing Lean methodologies. This role is pivotal in achieving quality benchmarks, meeting delivery schedules, and adhering to fair labor practices, all while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Plant Manager is tasked with developing and executing operational strategies that enhance the financial performance of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplifies company values, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and productivity through positive employee relations.
  • Champions a safety-first culture by leading by example and ensuring employee engagement in safe practices while adhering to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
  • Maintains a tidy and organized workspace to promote safety and productivity.
  • Encourages employee feedback on safety matters and collaborates with the EHS Manager to implement improvements.
  • Ensures ethical practices in achieving customer satisfaction goals, including quality and timely delivery.
  • Accountable for the plant's EBIT contribution, ensuring that performance targets are met while supporting profitable growth.
  • Drives quality and continuous improvement initiatives in partnership with management to exceed operational plans.
  • Responsible for the quality assurance of all manufactured products.
  • Establishes and monitors operational goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) through a structured review process.
  • Manages costs effectively to achieve EBITDA targets, including oversight of production supplies.
  • Ensures equipment is well-maintained to minimize downtime and associated costs.
  • Monitors staffing levels and adjusts as necessary to maintain quality and delivery reliability.
  • Fosters strong relationships with the workforce, building a performance-driven culture through talent development.
  • Mentors and engages team members, providing constructive feedback and driving employee engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
  • Oversees HR-related processes, including training, performance management, and compliance with policies.
  • Participates in the formulation of policies and procedures to effectively manage operations.
  • Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures at all times.
  • May require occasional travel for business purposes.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within a made-to-order manufacturing environment, or 10 years without a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in plant operations and understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and troubleshooting within an operational context.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and ERP systems (AX preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing, particularly in machining, with a focus on LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to manage a diverse workforce effectively.
