Job Overview

Position: Plant Manager

Shift: Day Shift

Compensation: $130,000 (subject to experience)

Location: Austintown, OH

Role Summary:

The Plant Manager oversees the manufacturing and operational functions of the facility, ensuring a secure work environment, implementing Lean methodologies, achieving quality benchmarks, and meeting delivery timelines. This role is pivotal in maintaining compliance with regulations and policies while driving continuous improvement in all aspects of operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold company values, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and productivity through positive employee relations.
  • Champion a behavior-based safety culture, ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Engage with employees to gather feedback on safety and collaborate with the EHS Manager to enhance workplace safety.
  • Ensure ethical practices in achieving customer satisfaction metrics, including quality and timely delivery.
  • Manage the plant's financial performance, preparing and overseeing annual and long-term operational plans.
  • Drive quality and continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with management to meet operational goals.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment to reduce downtime and repair costs.
  • Adjust staffing levels based on production schedules to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Build strong relationships with the workforce, promoting a performance-driven culture through talent development.
  • Oversee human resources processes, including training, performance management, and compliance with policies.
  • Participate in policy development to effectively manage business operations.
  • Travel occasionally as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a Plant or Operations Manager role within a custom manufacturing environment, or 10 years without a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in plant operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and operational troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Experience in manufacturing, particularly in machining, with a focus on LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to manage a diverse team effectively.
