Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecom Support Specialist to join our team at Burwood Group. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing and supporting our telecommunications infrastructure, including wireless devices, broadband services, and phone systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wireless Device Support: Provide day-to-day support for wireless devices, including smartphones, tablets, and mobile hotspots. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to these devices.
  • Broadband Orders/Setup and ISP Management: Manage broadband orders, installations, and setups. Coordinate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to ensure timely and accurate service delivery. Resolve any service issues in a timely manner.
  • Support for Voice and Data Networks: Provide support for our company's voice and data networks, including troubleshooting and maintenance of ZoomCentral and Avaya phone systems.
  • User Management: Manage user changes/additions within telecom systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date user profiles.
  • Billing and Cost Optimization: Assist in managing telecom billing, including identifying and implementing cost-saving measures. Monitor and address overages and billing discrepancies. Support IT procurement as needed.
Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Installs and supports telecommunications infrastructure and its associated software. Maintains and supports voice mail systems.
  • Planning and Design: Plans, analyzes, designs, and develops the telephone system including analog, digital, VoIP, and SIP technologies.
  • Installation and Configuration: Coordinates the installation of telephones and equipment to cables and lines supplied by outside vendors.
  • Recommendations and Troubleshooting: Makes recommendations concerning efficiency, effectiveness, and planning of departmental telephone systems. Configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end user telecommunications hardware, telephony devices and endpoints, and voice/fax/data hardware products.
  • Inventory Management: Inspects, tests, and maintains telephone lines, circuits, trunks, and associated wiring and cabling.
  • Collaboration and Problem-Solving: Collaborates with other telecom engineers, telecom support analysts, and network analysts when problems arise. Monitors and identifies capacity and performance issues for telecommunications traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of telecommunications systems.
  • Documentation and Verification: Assists in maintaining current inventories and supporting documentation of telephone equipment owned or leased by the company. Verifies and documents software or hardware failure, repairs, installations, removals, and other work requests.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in telecom support, particularly with wireless devices and broadband services.
  • ISP Operations and Management: Strong understanding of ISP operations and management.
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience with ZoomCentral and Avaya phone systems.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in billing management, cost optimization, and IT procurement is preferred but not required.
