About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team at Panasonic Avionics Corporation. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance software solutions for our in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of software components for our in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems, ensuring high performance and low latency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, architect solutions, and drive technical initiatives.
  • Champion best practices in software engineering, including code quality, testing, and scalability.
  • Design and implement content management and optimization solutions to enhance the passenger experience.
  • Utilize cloud computing platforms and services to architect scalable and resilient systems.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our systems and recommending adoption where appropriate.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as needed, ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in software development, with expertise in C++, Java, and Go programming languages.
  • Proven ability to design and architect complex systems, balancing performance, scalability, and reliability considerations.
  • Strong background in low-latency systems design and development, with a focus on performance optimization.
  • Expertise in C++, Java, and Go programming languages.
  • Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proficiency in content management systems and optimization techniques.
  • Solid understanding of software version management tools such as Git or SVN.
  • Experience with Edge systems and resource-constrained environments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and coaching engineers to help them excel in their roles.
