Director of Admissions Job Description

At Select Medical, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Admissions to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Admissions function and ensuring excellent customer service, accurate reimbursement information, and maximized admissions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership to the Admissions Department, including coordinators and representatives, and determine the department's function, organization, employee complement, budget, and resource needs.
  • Oversee the flow of all patient referrals, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration between liaisons, program coordinators, and case management with the Admissions Department.
  • Collaborate with the Central Billing Office management team to develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures related to the collection of all pertinent patient data necessary for the expedient, timely, and accurate billing and collection of patient accounts.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed timely and accurately, including census, Advance Notification, HMS admission/transfer/discharge.
  • Work closely with administrators to maximize census, reimbursement, and expedite appeals and disputes for third-party payers.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in inpatient healthcare admissions, including five years of progressive management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in the rehabilitation field preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid processes and managed care and case management functions required.
