Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Installation Specialist to join our team. As an HVAC Electrical Controls Technician, you will be responsible for installing and checking out various systems utilizing codes, company procedures, engineering drawings, and personal analysis. You will work with electrical contractors and develop a positive interface with customers to ensure confidence and satisfaction with the system installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install raceways, cables, and wiring to meet local or national codes, standards, and customer system requirements
  • Mount and terminate controls equipment as needed
  • Assist sales with electrical estimates, including walking retrofit projects
  • Check out wiring and terminations with test instruments as needed
  • Keep management informed of job needs, progress, and issues
  • Complete paperwork, including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation
  • Provide feedback to JCI Engineering on changes and keep as-built drawings current
  • Resolve job site conflicts regarding installation issues or escalate concerns to management as required
  • Communicate with customers as necessary upon arrival and before leaving the work site
  • Adhere to Johnson Controls safety programs and policies

Requirements

  • Electrical apprenticeship or formal training in electrical installation techniques
  • Possesses journeyman's level electrical licensure
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Possesses working knowledge of local codes as it applies to controls
  • Experienced in scope determination of installation materials
  • Able to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four years' experience directly with controls installations
