About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Controls Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and servicing of building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and commissioning of complex control systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring high levels of satisfaction through direct communication and on-site interaction.
  • Mentor and train mechanical technicians on building automation activities, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Complete required project and service documentation, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Diagnose and repair complex control systems malfunctions, requiring extensive knowledge of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site, ensuring transparency and customer satisfaction.
  • Meet regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems, keeping them informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues, and recommending system enhancements, upgrades, or replacement.
  • Promote the sale of add-on work, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage assigned work to meet professional execution of time and customer satisfaction, adhering to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards.
  • Provide safety awareness on worksites, promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
  • Mentor and train mechanical staff on building automation systems, providing support on non-complex, non-critical equipment.
  • Compile job documentation, such as certificates of completion, customer training forms, training certificates, and punch lists.
  • Conduct extensive self-study to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company product lines, completing certifications as required.
Requirements
  • Three years of industry experience or five years of experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in HVAC.
  • Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  • Leadership skills to support the activities of mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical building automation equipment on a job site.
  • PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC-related software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational School four-year program or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or similar field.
