Job Overview

AV Systems Installation Specialist


• Execute installation activities for audiovisual systems, including tasks such as cable management, connector installation,
mounting equipment, and metalworking.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out installation duties for audiovisual systems, including but not limited to: cable management, connector installation,
equipment mounting, and metalworking.

• Interpret electronic schematics and architectural designs effectively.

• Utilize hand and power tools for soldering and crimping connectors, along with various other AV-related tasks.

• Assist in basic mechanical fabrication and rack wiring.

• Install support structures for projectors and screens.

• Conduct point-to-point functionality testing of systems.

• Implement field installations of control programs (Crestron/Extron) with upload and download capabilities.

• Provide mentorship to Level I and Level II Technicians.

• Load and test code for control and DSP systems.

• Make minor programming adjustments under the guidance of an engineer or programmer.

• Conduct client training sessions as required.

• Act as a liaison for customer interactions.

• Maintain job documentation as necessary.

• Exhibit leadership on job sites.

• Travel to various job locations is required, including potential overnight stays for certain projects.

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong communication skills with employees, clients, and colleagues.

• Proficient in the safe and efficient use of hand and power tools.

• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.

• Basic computer skills.

• Understanding of basic signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.

• Capability to manage small to medium-sized projects.

• Basic programming skills (Crestron/Extron) for troubleshooting and modifications.

Education and Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in audiovisual installation is preferred.

• Formal education in Electronics or a related field is preferred.

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Preferred Certifications

• InfoComm Quick Start to the audiovisual industry.

• InfoComm CTS General Certification.

• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Course.

• Essentials of Crestron Programming.

DSP Systems (Basic Setup)

• QSC Q-Sys Level 1 Training.

• BIAMP Systems Audio Training.

Project Management Experience

• Lead at least 4 projects totaling a minimum of $50,000 each and take the lead on 1 project with a minimum value of $250,000.

• Possess a valid Driver's License and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards.
