The Property Accounting Supervisor at Kairoi Residential will oversee a team of property accountants, ensuring that tasks are effectively distributed and completed accurately and promptly. This role is critical in managing various accounting functions under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team responsible for all accounting activities and financial reporting for multi-family properties.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structures for diverse investors and third-party owners.
- Guarantee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
- Review the general ledger for accuracy and validate monthly recurring journal entries.
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Manage month-end close accounting and conduct thorough reviews.
- Ensure financial statements comply with GAAP and internal policies.
- Review financial reporting packages for accurate presentation.
- Advise team members on handling non-routine reporting transactions.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers.
- Support annual audits and budgeting activities.
- Analyze departmental workflows to enhance efficiency while maintaining accuracy.
- Work alongside other department managers to achieve overall goals.
- Provide training and support to both new and existing staff.
- Address personnel issues, including conflicts and performance matters.
- Assist in developing and implementing new procedures to improve departmental workflows.
- Respond to inquiries from senior management regarding financial reporting and special requests.
- Set annual goals for direct reports and monitor their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Experience in multi-family property management accounting or real estate accounting is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience is required.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is mandatory.
- CPA license or eligibility is a plus.
- Proficient knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, General Ledger, and Financial Statement preparation.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and communication abilities.
- Capable of leading and motivating a team of accountants.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with the RealPage Accounting Platform is preferred.
