Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front Desk Supervisor to join our team at Sonesta International Hotels. As a key member of our hotel operations team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, leading a team of front desk staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's front desk and reservation functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train front desk staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to provide exceptional customer service and support.
  • Front Desk Operations: Manage the front desk and reservation functions to ensure the delivery of superior guest services, the security of monies, credit card transactions, and guest information.
  • Revenue Management: Work with the hotel's property management system (Opera) and reservation system (Synxis) to maximize revenue through occupancy and rate adjustments based on market conditions.
  • Communication: Establish effective Front Desk communication and information systems through logs, department meetings, and one-on-one interaction with staff.
  • Guest Services: Ensure guest special requests are fulfilled and proper delivery of guest services is delivered.
  • Shoppe and Pour Management: Supervise the daily execution of the shoppe and the pour, ensuring each is stocked and maintained in an orderly and appealing manner.
  • Service Recovery: Establish and implement appropriate service recovery guidelines to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Teamwork and Quality Service: Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Two years of previous hotel experience required, with a background from the extended stay industry preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
  • Communication Skills: Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mathematical Skills: Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances preferred.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities preferred.
  • Certifications: Will be required to obtain a ServSafe certification, and may be required to obtain a TIPS certification.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems required.
  • Physical Demands: Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility, carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds, and frequently handling objects and equipment.
