Job Title: Jewelry Sales Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Jewelry Sales Associate to join our team at Sol's Jewelry and Loan. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with customers, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide outstanding customer service, answering questions, and offering product recommendations to customers.
  • Work closely with customers to assess their needs, provide assistance, and build trust relationships.
  • Remain knowledgeable about Sol's products, including features, pricing, and promotions.
  • Continuously grow expertise on products offered and pricing ranges.
  • Cross-sell products and services to customers.
  • Team up with coworkers to ensure proper customer service and achieve sales goals.
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction.
  • Handle returns of merchandise and operate cash registers, process credit cards, and manage financial transactions.
  • Follow and assist in achieving store's sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Suggest ways to improve sales, including planning marketing activities and changing store layouts.
  • Receive merchandise, including unloading and unpacking, and marking it with codes for identification.
  • Keep the selling floor stocked with merchandise and arrange displays to engage customers.
  • Comply with inventory control procedures and maintain a clean and organized store area.
  • Assist with answering the phone in a timely and professional manner.
  • Adhere to all Sol's Jewelry and Loan safety policies and practices.
Requirements:
  • High school degree; Associate degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
  • Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Associate, Sales Representative, or similar role preferred.
  • Able to comfortably greet customers and make small talk.
  • Knowledge of, and desire to continually learn about commonly pawned items such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
  • Demonstrated selling skills, including effectively telling customers about products.
  • Able to identify what customers are looking for by listening carefully to what the customer is saying.
  • Understanding of how trends in the market change quickly and ability to adapt to changes.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner.
  • Strong attention to detail skills, with the ability to focus on detail, whether it is making sure a customer receives exact change or the product on display is laid out perfectly.
  • A friendly and energetic personality with a customer service focus.
  • Proficient with running a credit card processing machine, cash register, and counting change.
  • Familiarity with inventory procedures.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, including proper phone etiquette.
  • Entry-level computer proficiency a plus.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Proficiency in English required; bilingual preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Sales floor or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk up flights of stairs and/or work in confined spaces.
  • Periodically works in outside weather conditions.
  • Periodically works near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekend, holiday, or evening work as needed.
