Job Description

At The Northwest Regional Re-entry Center, we are committed to supporting individuals impacted by justice involvement in achieving financial independence and sustainable housing. We are seeking a skilled Resource Specialist to join our team and focus on personalized career development and housing navigation for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with residents to obtain necessary identifications for job search, vocational training, and academic coursework.
  • Assist residents in developing and updating their skill set and strength-based portfolio, including career-specific resumes and cover letters.
  • Evaluate and refer residents to community resource programs that meet their individual needs regarding employment, vocational, and academic goals.
  • Assist residents with digital technologies to access employment, vocational, and academic opportunities.
  • Verify and monitor resident job search, vocational training, and academic coursework itineraries.

Resident Housing:

  • Coordinate with case managers to address housing barriers and needs.
  • Evaluate and refer residents to community housing resource programs that meet their individual needs.
  • Assist residents with housing applications and documentations.
  • Establish and maintain connections with community housing programs and property management companies.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Develop and facilitate workshops on life skills, employment preparation, and financial literacy.
  • Monitor residents' use of computers and electronic devices in the Resource Room.
  • Collaborate with Resource Room coworkers to ensure the space is available to residents.
  • Provide administrative support to the Employment Placement Specialist.

Qualifications:

A combination of education and experience that demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of career development activities, employment services, and housing-related resources. At least two years of justice-involved direct-client case management experience is highly preferred.
