Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist to join our team at Adams and Associates, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and facilitating the Center's alcohol, drug, and tobacco prevention program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement alcohol, drug, and tobacco prevention activities and integrate services into the Center's programmatic functions.
  • Develop and coordinate community resources for educating students on substance use and abuse.
  • Administer the Center's drug testing program to promote a drug-free environment.
  • Provide students with comprehensive and individualized case management ensuring student progress, retention, and completion of the Job Corps program.
  • Counsel students individually and in groups on substance abuse.
  • Produce quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards.
  • Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Understand and apply job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.
  • Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
  • Show respect and courtesy to students and hold them accountable for their actions and behavior.
  • Provide quality programs and services for students and ensure that quality is maintained and student needs are met.
  • Exchange ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contribute meaningfully to group efforts.
  • Effectively articulate thoughts and ideas and identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions.
  • Work in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.
  • Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school preferred.
  • A minimum of one-year experience in drug/alcohol counseling or a related field required.
  • Valid, active, unrestricted in-state License or Certification in Substance Abuse Counseling/Prevention required.
  • Regional approval required.
