Ridgeview Institute Smyrna is seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Counselor to join our team in Smyrna, Georgia.

As a Substance Use Counselor, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, in compliance with The Joint Commission and CMS standards of care, to individuals struggling with chemical dependency, substance abuse, or addictions. You will perform social services functions, including assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs, enabling them to access therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health.
You will provide basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and provide information and referrals as needed.

Located on a 37-acre wooded campus in the city of Smyrna, GA on the outskirts of Atlanta, Ridgeview Institute provides a safe, caring environment with Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, Counselors, Activity Therapists, and Mental Health Technicians. Treatment services include inpatient and outpatient services and aftercare.

Requirements- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field preferred
- MSW, APC, LPC, and LCSW preferred
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; and have strong clinical assessment skills preferred
- Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, 12-step programs, and substance abuse
- Must possess a Georgia State license in social work or clinical related mental health field
- Also, Master's License in Social Work or Counseling preferred
- CPR/First Aid and CPI Training
- May be required to work flexible hours and overtime
