Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating sports recreation programs, as well as providing exceptional customer service to program participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Assist in the development, organization, and delivery of sports leagues, tournaments, recreation programs, activities, and events.
  • Event Planning: Plan, organize, schedule, and direct all games, facilities, and officials for sports and activities.
  • Research and Innovation: Actively research new sports events and activities targeted toward youth and adults, and apply innovative ideas to programming.
  • Team Management: Assist in the recruitment, hiring, on-boarding, training, development, and supervision of team members.
  • Customer Service: Ensure a high level of customer service for all program participants, and build strong relationships with customers to drive sales and retention.
  • Financial Management: Assist in producing and managing the events budget to ensure revenue and event service goals are achieved.
  • Reporting and Data Analysis: Provide data and reports for events as needed, and monitor sales and tournament sales forecasts.
  • Equipment and Supplies: Work with vendors to ensure best pricing and quality for equipment and supplies.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Create schedules that adhere to the needs of various team needs while offering the best competitive environment.
Requirements
  • Communication Skills: Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Professionalism: Must be extremely professional in appearance, demeanor, and communication.
  • Leadership and Customer Relations: Must have excellent customer relations skills and leadership capability.
  • Organizational Skills: Must be detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a group environment and motivate employees.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Education and Experience: 4-year degree in a related field preferred, with 3-5 years of industry experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Google Suite.
Qualification Profile
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management, Physical Education, Sport Management, Sport Administration, or other related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience developing, implementing, scheduling, and evaluating varied sports recreation programs.
  • Supervisory Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage sports recreation program activities at multiple sites.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Interpersonal Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build community relationships.
  • Technical Skills: Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
