Job Description

Job Title: Program Manager

Job Summary:

Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking a highly skilled Program Manager to oversee the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.
  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
  • Manage direct reports, including labor planning, financial budgets, tasking, and oversight of staff in one performing training curriculum analysis, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Ensure project work products and deliverables are developed in accordance with organizational standard processes.
  • Establish and support program and organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate and reinforce successful project execution.
  • Work closely, collaboratively, and communicate effectively with all members of the project team, including government and contractors.

Requirements:

  • 6 years of relevant progressive experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 4 years of relevant progressive experience with a Master's degree in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years of relevant progressive experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline.
  • Must have 15 years of relevant Program Management experience.
  • Must have a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Must have experience performing cost estimates associated with Level of Effort (LOE), scope of work, and associated requirements.
  • Must have experience managing multiple technical instructions and completing projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Must have experience using Agile methodologies during program execution.
  • Experience working with DoD customers, projects, and processes.
  • Must have an active DoD SECRET security clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience supporting USN training programs and USN training objectives.
  • Experience supporting USN commands such as CSCS and NSWC.
  • Experience with FARS/DFARS.
  • Experience supporting programs associated with software development.
  • Experience leading a large team with subcontractors and/or consultants.
  • Management/leadership experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
