The Fabricator II position at Mega Fluid Systems involves the precise assembly and fabrication of PFA and PVDF plastic components essential for our manufacturing operations. We offer two shifts: 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., which includes a 10% shift differential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform plastic welding, repair, and fabrication of rigid thermoplastics.
  • Utilize conventional lathes for working with rigid thermoplastics.
  • Operate basic shop equipment and machinery effectively.
  • Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machinery work and fabrication tasks.
  • Engage in general plastic shop activities including fabrication, welding, cutting, sanding, assembly, and installation.
  • Collaborate with team members to assemble system components.
  • Interpret and read mechanical drawings accurately.
  • Employ measuring devices with precision.
  • Identify and weld various types of plastics.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment adhering to a 5S system.
  • Utilize resources efficiently by operating equipment and supplies correctly.
  • Consistently uphold Mega Fluid Systems' standards for safety and quality.
  • Document safety and quality actions and observations as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Quick learning ability and retention of information.
  • Problem-solving skills to address issues as they arise.
  • Capability to clarify priorities with supervisors.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of assemblers.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.

Computer Skills:

  • Familiarity with MS Office 365.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in reading mechanical assembly drawings or a strong ability to learn quickly.
  • 3-5 years of experience in assembling and/or fabricating plastic components.
  • 3-5 years of experience in adhering to safety and quality standards in a production environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience in welding with plastic materials.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a shop environment, including the use of hand and power tools.
  • Woodworking skills are preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Compensation: $20-$24 per hour.
