Position Overview

The Territory Sales Leader is tasked with overseeing sales operations within a designated area. This role involves organizing, developing, and guiding district sales personnel to meet established sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate, execute, and assess strategic business initiatives to achieve sales goals while adhering to company and regulatory standards.
  • Achieve or surpass sales targets for specific products or product lines through direct oversight of sales representatives, providing regular performance updates to management.
  • Engage in direct sales interactions with team members, organize regional sales gatherings, conduct field coaching, and carry out routine performance assessments of sales staff.
  • Analyze sales metrics, representative performance, and market trends to devise and implement strategies that enhance product demand and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor competitor activities and products, delivering consistent updates to relevant internal teams and responding to inquiries regarding regional business performance.
  • Manage and regulate regional expenditures to align with budgetary constraints.
  • Act as a liaison between commercial teams and other departments, including Human Resources, Marketing, and Finance.

Supervisory Duties

  • Directly oversee a team of sales representatives, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work responsibilities; manage employee recognition and disciplinary actions; address grievances and resolve issues.
  • Recruit, interview, select, train, and evaluate the performance of sales representatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members within the assigned territory, fostering a positive team culture and enhancing skill sets.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required; an MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant commercial experience is required, including sales, product management, and account management.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in dermatology or consumer sales, is highly desirable.
  • At least one year of experience in sales management or completion of a management training program is preferred.
  • Proficient in data analysis, trend identification, and action plan development.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for field visits and meetings.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer relationships with proven results.
  • High level of integrity and accountability.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with sales tracking software.

Working Conditions

The work environment may involve moderate noise levels and exposure to various physical conditions. Regular attendance is essential to fulfill job responsibilities, and participation in company meetings may occur outside of standard hours.
