PC Technician Intern

Banner Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented PC Technician Intern to join our team. As a PC Technician Intern, you will provide IT helpdesk support to all Banner computer users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting in maintaining hardware and software inventory.
Key Responsibilities- Provides customer service for all hardware and software issues, utilizing company Helpdesk ticket tracking system (KACE).
- Setup, maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair personal computer hardware (laptops, desktops, and terminals) and related peripherals (printers, monitors, mice, cameras, etc.).
- Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot personal computer software including: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe, ShoreTel Call Manager, Lotus Notes, Java client, Internet Explorer, VPN clients, and any other related client software.
- Provide technical support in local and wide area network technologies, including Ethernet, wireless, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, and other networking technologies.
- Assist in maintaining accurate personal computer and technology assets inventory.
- Assist in supporting user account information, security, group policy, patch management, Anti-virus protection, Anti-SPAM, and other security related tasks.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field.
- Prior related work or PC course experience desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- General knowledge of networking and telecommunications technologies.
- General understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- General understanding of MS Active Directory.
- Results oriented individual with the ability to deliver quality, on-time results.
- Must be well organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as a member of a team.
- Ability to train both experienced and non-experienced computer users on new technology, both hardware and software.
