Transmission Department Manager

At Burns & McDonnell, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transmission Department Manager to lead our Northeast Region Transmission Department. As a key member of our Transmission & Distribution Global Practice, you will be responsible for providing managerial direction and leadership to grow the department in a profitable manner.
Key Responsibilities:- Fostering Culture: Drive a culture focused on safety and compliance, lead a dynamic department, and foster a culture based on our MacCulture principles, quality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Collaboration: Coordinate and promote transmission consistency, share information, and develop relationships with internal contacts and external vendors.
- Recruiting, Interviewing, Hiring & Onboarding: Prioritize recruitment, interview, and hire prospective candidates, and onboard new employees.
- Career Development & Performance Management: Educate the department about career paths, provide technical mentorship, and meet with staff to discuss performance.
- Resource Management: Establish and communicate department objectives, review team utilization, and monitor progress on projects.
- Business Line Support: Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems, and support sales and marketing activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of overhead/underground transmission experience and/or structural civil engineering/design experience.
- Registration as a professional engineer, or currently pursuing professional registration required.
- Proven leadership in developing and implementing vision that have brought positive impact.
- Demonstrated excellent written & verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
