Barton & Loguidice is seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer to join our team for the 2023 construction season. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration and inspection of transportation projects throughout various counties in New York.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Administration: Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily construction activities, prepare and submit daily diary/inspection reports and weekly progress reports.
  • Inspection and Documentation: Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites, measure quantities of materials used and work performed, and document findings.
  • Payment Requests: Assist in the preparation of monthly payment requests and review claims for extra work and change order costs.
  • Coordination and Communication: Facilitate coordination between the owner, contractor(s), and government agencies, and interpret contract plans and specifications.
Requirements:
  • Experience: The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in highway/bridge/paving/drainage inspection, with a strong understanding of NYSDOT specifications and MURK procedures and protocol.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to utilize construction software programs.
  • Education and Certifications: Recent Public Works, NYS Thruway, and DOT retirees are encouraged to apply.
Compensation:

Estimated pay range: $45-60/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials.
