Role Overview: The Senior Analyst for Special Accounts is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service for a designated portfolio of high-risk borrowing accounts. This position utilizes expertise to minimize the Bank's loss exposure and effectively manage associated risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to both internal and external stakeholders regarding intricate, high-risk credit transactions and strategies for risk mitigation.
  • Make informed credit decisions and recommendations in alignment with sound credit-granting principles and Bank policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen relationships and enhance the overall profitability of the assigned portfolio.
  • Propose alternatives to credit applications, including restructuring options and special loan plans.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of lending-related policies and procedures.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the assigned business/group.
  • Influence and negotiate to meet business objectives, including developing action plans with debtors and guarantors.
  • Recommend and implement solutions based on thorough analysis of issues and their implications for the business.
  • Assist in the creation of strategic plans and identify emerging trends to inform decision-making.
  • Design and develop tools and training programs to address business needs, including delivering training to relevant audiences.
  • Determine business priorities and the optimal sequence for executing strategies.
  • Conduct independent analyses to resolve strategic challenges and ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Integrate information from various sources to streamline processes and enhance reporting.
  • Utilize systems to manage information effectively, including customized reports and tracking tools.
  • Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations for strategic problem-solving.
  • Lead change management initiatives, including readiness assessments and stakeholder management.
  • Define communication plans to positively influence behavior and develop tailored messaging.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to team members, acting as a resource for the team.
  • Coordinate workflow and manage exception requests, escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Monitor the financial and risk performance of the account portfolio, conducting analyses to improve quality and security.
  • Document credit transaction decisions with clear rationale for customer understanding.
  • Advise on terms, conditions, and collateral requirements for transaction decisions.
  • Stay informed about economic and market developments affecting the portfolio.
  • Enhance knowledge of lending issues, including loan structures and relevant regulations.
  • Provide coaching and advice on credit risk to sales and service employees.
  • Support strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders, including legal and insolvency professionals.
  • Gather and format data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
  • Track performance and address any issues that arise.
  • Execute work to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Provide specialized consulting and analytical support while exercising sound judgment in problem-solving.
  • Work independently and manage non-routine situations effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 5 to 7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess credit qualifications and associated knowledge as per established standards.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of banking products, industry trends, and regulations.
  • Exhibit proven leadership and coaching skills.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Showcase collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrate data-driven decision-making skills.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $79,000 to $148,000, with pay type classified as salaried. The total compensation package may include performance-based incentives and other benefits.
