Position Title: Senior Power Design Engineer
Role Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Conducting electrical design for power systems tailored for large facilities and data centers.
- Exhibiting a strong work ethic alongside high standards of personal and professional integrity.
- Collaborating with suppliers to address product design and cost considerations.
- Effectively communicating technical knowledge in a clear and concise manner.
- Contributing positively within a team-oriented environment.
- Providing technical support and guidance to fellow team members.
- Troubleshooting and resolving challenges associated with electrical engineering projects.
- Ensuring adherence to all relevant codes and regulations.
- Developing necessary engineering documentation.
Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required, with advanced degrees (MS or Ph.D.) being advantageous.
Experience Requirements:
Preferred candidates will possess:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in developing electrical products for mission-critical environments.
- A solid understanding of AC and DC power distribution circuits, including low voltage three-phase AC circuits.
- Extensive knowledge of large-scale standby and emergency power systems, such as UPS, PDU, generators, and STS systems.
- Familiarity with power systems engineering, system control, and metering, along with simulation and CAD tools.
- A firm grasp of mechanical equipment and system design principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in various engineering concepts, particularly electrical design engineering principles.
- A strong understanding of building ground architecture and grounding techniques.
- Good knowledge of relevant standards, including Telcordia, UL, National Electric Code, IEEE, and NEBS.
- Experience with Protective Device Coordination studies and Arc Flash studies is preferred.
Technical and Professional Skills:
Ideal candidates will have:
- In-depth knowledge of engineering and technology applications, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment relevant to design and production.
- A Professional Engineering License and familiarity with building codes is a plus.
