Pharmacy Clinical Manager

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Clinical Manager to join our team. As a Pharmacy Clinical Manager, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing pharmacy clinical programs, including formulary management, policy and procedure development, and education across the healthcare spectrum.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret orders and transcribe or verify them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system.
- Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
- Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of drug and dose.
- Sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing non-formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges, and promoting rational drug therapy selection.
- Identify, design, and analyze drug utilization reviews to promote rational drug therapy and determine an action plan based on results.
- Develop, manage, and mentor pharmacy clinical programs such as drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV to PO, renal dosing, and other programs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor pharmacy clinical initiatives and share pharmacy operation responsibility with the Pharmacy Operation Manager.
- B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy is required.
- Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year as a Pharmacy Clinical/Operations Specialist required.
- 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience, preferably within area of focus required.
- Completion of a hospital PGY2/pharmacy specialty residency or fellowship Preferred.
- Specialty BCPS certification is preferred.
- Other certification (e.g. FCCP, FASHP) is also preferred.
- Hospital Pharmacy Management experience Preferred.
- Experience performing basic mathematical calculations, balance, and reconciliation of figures is required.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office, Meditech, Business Objects, and purchasing vendor applications is required.
- ACLS certification Preferred.
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy Required.
- Active Pharmacy Consultant license, or equivalent as per State requirements for a Pharmacy Required.
