We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Manager to join our team at Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our pharmacy clinical programs. This includes formulary management, policy and procedure development, and education across the healthcare spectrum.
Responsibilities- Interpret and transcribe orders accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system
- Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals with precision and attention to detail
- Comply with facility policy and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements
- Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, and appropriateness of drug and dose
- Provide clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners, suggesting cost-effective therapeutic alternatives as needed
- Sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing non-formulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy selection
- Support participation in daily multidisciplinary and bedside rounds
- Identify, design, and analyze drug utilization reviews to promote rational drug therapy and determine action plans
- Provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients
- Develop, manage, and mentor pharmacy clinical programs, including antimicrobial management and other initiatives
- Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Clinical/Operations Specialist
- At least 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in a leadership role
- Completion of a hospital PGY2 pharmacy residency or fellowship, or equivalent experience
- Specialty BCPS certification, or equivalent
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy
