The IT Service Desk Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the user computing landscape, which encompasses devices, services, software, and client assistance to guarantee efficient management, support, and security of endpoints.
Core Responsibilities:
- Direct the desktop support operations, ensuring exceptional end-user assistance and formulating strategies for a managed desktop ecosystem.
- Guide support personnel through effective scheduling, task assignments, and professional development.
- Oversee endpoint management, software distribution, and hardware inventory.
- Manage software licensing and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Identify and deploy cost-efficient technological solutions to align with business goals.
- Supervise the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of all end-user systems.
- Establish and uphold service delivery performance metrics and corresponding SLAs.
- Assist in the enforcement of computing policies, security protocols, and the analysis of security incidents.
- Develop staffing strategies to ensure comprehensive global user support.
- Manage IT resources and vendor relationships for the implementation of new technologies.
Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of IT experience with proven leadership capabilities.
- At least 5 years of experience in overseeing desktop support operations.
- Thorough understanding of network architecture and client/server systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft enterprise network tools.
- Experience in systems management and the deployment of security measures.
- Strong leadership and management qualities.
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple projects within tight timelines.
- Experience in vendor management.
- Prior experience in high-tech or manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
Work Environment:
- This position requires onsite presence.
- Availability for on-call duties after regular hours.
- Travel may be necessary for both domestic and international locations.
- Physical capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
