As a Production Shift Leader, you will be responsible for effectively overseeing and guiding production and support staff during your designated shift. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adjust and monitor molding parameters to maximize product output while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Lead a team in executing daily production operations, scheduling tasks, providing training, and overseeing maintenance activities.
  • Engage in problem-solving initiatives to implement corrective actions and foster continuous improvements.
  • Coordinate the availability and maintenance of tooling and equipment.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Supervise adherence to company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Recruit and develop production and support personnel.
  • Provide necessary assistance to team members.
  • Validate new mold setups and oversee production processes.
  • Monitor employee attendance, conduct performance evaluations, and implement disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the production manager to address any issues impacting quality and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure the accuracy of shift reports.
  • Utilize Plex for effective product management and tracking.
  • Document any tool or machine damage that occurs during the shift.
  • Complete daily supervisory checklists.
  • Manage additional tasks assigned by the Production Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of plastic injection molding machinery and materials.
  • Familiarity with mold setup and teardown processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
  • Understanding of quality management systems based on ISO standards.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing and supervisory roles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position may require frequent bending, squatting, and lifting of weights up to 50 pounds.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

The Production Shift Leader will report directly to the Production Manager.
