About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Specialist to join our team at Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC. As a key member of our R&D team, you will play a critical role in the application, evaluation, and development of cutting-edge technologies in our agriculture and specialty markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up studies at Helena-owned facilities and/or grower's fields, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Apply crop protection products, crop production products, and various seeds and crops at locations throughout assigned territory, adhering to strict quality control measures.
  • Evaluate products for their efficacy and performance, crop safety, yield, and quality, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Maintain and clean Helena's R&D facilities, ensuring optimal efficiency and output of operations.
  • Collect, enter, and evaluate data from tests in specialized software designed for research and development, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Calibrate scientific and commercial equipment for precision application, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Perform equipment maintenance, including making simple repairs to small engines and spray equipment, to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Operate light, medium, and heavy equipment for various agricultural operations, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Prepare reports and materials for field days and other demonstrations, effectively communicating research findings and results.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by leader, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in an agricultural-related field is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • One year of related work experience is required, with a strong background in agricultural technology and research.
  • Must pass a drug test and background check, ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license is required to operate company vehicles.
Preferred Skills
  • Mechanical skills, including the ability to make simple repairs to small engines and other spray equipment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in specialized software designed for research and development.
