Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitate certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Associated degree from an accredited respiratory program.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist certification issued by the NBRC.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner certification issued by the Texas Medical Board.
  • 1 year experience in an acute care facility preferred; new grads with licensing complete will be considered.
  • Must be able to work nights and rotation weekends.
