About the Job

We are seeking a skilled General Utility Worker to join our team at the State of North Carolina. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general building maintenance and facility support functions, including installation of office furnishings, assembly/disassembly of office cubicle systems, and repair/installation of window treatments.
  • Assemble new equipment and move furniture and office equipment to relocate offices.
  • Power wash buildings and structures, and install/repair campus road signs.
  • Perform heavy physical tasks for extended periods of time, including lifting up to 100 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and working in tight spaces.
Requirements
  • Valid NC driver's license.
  • Ability to exert moderate to heavy physical energy in performing work duties.
  • Ability to regularly and safely lift up to 100 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, work in tight spaces, stand for the majority of the day, and endure extended outdoor field conditions at any time of the year.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in operating small hand and power tools.
