Basic Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 2 years of pertinent experience; or a Master's degree. Experience in Agile methodologies is preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

A Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance with a Polygraph is mandatory at the time of hiring. Selected candidates will undergo a U.S. Government security investigation and must fulfill eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work performed.

Position Overview:

General Dynamics Mission Systems is actively seeking a Software Solutions Engineer. This role presents an opportunity to advance innovative technologies that support vital defense and intelligence services and systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
  • Utilize principles and techniques from computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to create sophisticated solutions.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert during internal evaluations of software components and systems.
  • Address the most challenging technical issues facing the organization, often requiring exceptional creativity and innovation.
  • Implement and advocate for the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development lifecycle to support the generation of technical engineering products.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision; often responsible for defining the scope, schedule, and expectations for the tasks they execute or lead; assignments may be self-initiated.
  • Provide leadership and/or guidance to junior employees and teams.
  • Lead significant technical tasks and manage large teams and projects.
  • Stay informed about technology trends and promote new ideas and process enhancements.

Required Experience:

  • Web Development using JavaScript
    • Preferred Libraries: JQuery, BootStrap.JS
  • C# with ASP.Net Web Forms
    • Alternatively: Strong development skills in Java and a willingness to learn C#
  • Database Proficiency:
    • Preferred: MongoDB
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Deployment with a Web Server
    • Preferred: IIS
