Role Summary:

As an Optical Sales Associate, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service and patient care. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with the community while contributing to their visual health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exemplary customer and patient service in accordance with company standards.
  • Assess patient eyewear requirements and recommend suitable lenses and frames.
  • Assist customers in selecting frames that complement their style and prescription needs.
  • Accurately process eyewear orders and provide professional dispensing services.
  • Support patients with frame adjustments and repairs.
  • Educate patients on the proper use and care of contact lenses.
  • Collaborate with the Optometrist during patient screenings and case histories.

Operational Standards:

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of insurance plans and claims processes.
  • Communicate promotions and special offers to customers effectively.
  • Ensure accurate account balancing and prepare detailed work orders for the Optical Lab.
  • Oversee frame inventory merchandising.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • State-required licensing must be maintained.
  • Completion of Shopko OCE Certification is necessary for certification.
  • Previous experience in an office or optical dispensing environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple customer interactions simultaneously.

Essential Skills:

  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient reading and writing abilities at a high school level.
  • Capability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with office equipment such as computers and telephones.
  • Physical ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds and perform manual dexterity tasks.
