Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Substance Abuse Counselor I to join our team. As a key member of our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDT), you will play a vital role in delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming services to participants. Your expertise and passion for helping others will make a significant impact on the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver treatment programming services to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions.
- Effectively implement scheduled program curriculum and lead face-to-face group and individual meetings utilizing motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other therapeutic processes.
- Engage participants daily, reinforce group rules and expectations for participation and completion.
- Work directly with participants to develop and implement treatment/action plans and educate participants about supportive networks as they return to the community.
- Review treatment plans, evaluate, and record treatment progress, and maintain accurate, timely, and confidential participant records.
- Minimum 6 months of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor.
- Current AOD Certification with an organization recognized by the DHCS or Registration with BBS or AOD certifying body, depending on education level.
- Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse, and appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical, and social effects of drug abuse.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
- Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS (preferred).
