Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming services to participants, conducting group and individual sessions as needed.
  • Effectively implement scheduled program curriculum, leading and participating in face-to-face group and individual meetings.
  • Engage participants daily, reinforcing group rules and expectations for participation and completion.
  • Work directly with participants to develop and implement treatment/action plans, educating them about supportive networks as they return to the community.
  • Review treatment plans, evaluate and record treatment progress, and maintain accurate and confidential participant records.
  • Complete all delivery documentation requirements, summarizing participants' background, treatment plan, and recovery process outcomes.
  • Liaise with transition/reentry staff, preparing transitional documents as directed by CDCR for continued community program activities.
  • May mentor Counselor I and II Level AOD Counselors/OMCP Mentors.
  • Work collaboratively with CDCR, DRP, CCHCS, and institution staff, supporting and collaborating with co-faculty, including Supervisors, Directors, and Regional Directors.
  • Participate in monthly, block, cross-training, curriculum training, technical assistance training, or other training as appropriate.

Requirements

  • A Master's Degree in a social service-related field, or a Bachelor's Degree in a social service-related field with AOD certification and relevant experience.
  • An understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse, as well as excellent interpersonal, written communications, and typing skills.
  • Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS (preferred).
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures generated by association with substance abuse treatment participants.
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior in order to maintain professional standards and safeguard the participant.
