Substance Abuse Recovery Specialist

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a highly skilled Registered Substance Use Disorder Counselor to provide direct substance-related counseling services to individuals with a history of substance abuse. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of substance abuse recovery principles and be able to provide a supportive environment for participants to succeed in treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized recovery plans for participants, addressing social, cultural, familial, and personal patterns that contribute to substance use and abuse.
- Lead group discussions and education classes, and participate in individual sessions to promote recovery and prevention services.
- Monitor and document progress in recovery, including effects on mental stability and behavioral changes.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to address the recovery needs of participants in the SUD program.
- Provide a supportive environment that encourages participants to succeed in treatment.
- Must be a Registered Addiction Specialist through a NCCA-accredited institution.
- Knowledge of the principles of alcohol and drug addiction, recovery planning, and motivational interviewing techniques.
- Completion of 200 hours of field-based experience in addiction treatment.
- Ability to facilitate group and individual recovery, monitor individual progress, and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
