Position Overview
As a key member of our healthcare team, the Echocardiography Specialist plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Under the guidance of the lab manager and medical director, this position is responsible for conducting comprehensive echocardiography examinations. Utilizing advanced ultrasound technology, the specialist ensures high-quality imaging and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct various echocardiography modalities, including 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, and color flow Doppler imaging.
- Collaborate with physicians during TEE procedures, applying independent judgment to differentiate normal from abnormal findings.
- Adhere to IAC-approved scanning protocols and utilize Smart Protocols when applicable.
- Review and prepare images and documentation for physician analysis, ensuring thoroughness and quality.
- Rotate through multiple lab locations as required, participating in daily workflows to maintain timely patient care.
- Schedule examinations through the transport system as necessary.
- Engage in after-hours, on-call, weekend, and holiday schedules as part of the lab team.

Equipment Management
- Operate and maintain all lab testing equipment, including ultrasound and physiological devices, EMR, and PACS.
- Report equipment malfunctions and ensure proper cleaning and stocking of work areas.
- Maintain up-to-date maintenance logs, including cleaning and downtime records.

Professional Development
- Attend departmental meetings and educational conferences, contributing to discussions and staying informed about advancements in the field.
- Participate in data collection, imaging, and research activities as needed.

Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited Radiology or Sonography program.
- Minimum of one year of experience in echocardiography, with consideration for clinical rotations during formal education.
- In lieu of formal education, five years of dedicated cardiac ultrasound experience may be accepted.
- Required certifications include ARDMS - RDCS or CCI (RCS).

Essential Skills
- In-depth knowledge of vascular anatomy and hemodynamics.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic computer skills.
- Proficient in office equipment operation and word processing.

Work Environment
- Variable shifts are expected in a dynamic healthcare setting.
