Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our echocardiography lab, you will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiography exams, providing exceptional patient care, and working collaboratively with our medical team to deliver outstanding patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of echocardiography exams, including 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, and color flow Doppler imaging, as well as assist with qualified physicians with TEE procedures.

  • Utilize independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and abnormal findings, ensuring that exams are thorough and prepared for review by reading physicians.

  • Rotate to multiple lab locations as scheduled and required by the IAC, participating in the daily workflow by watching the sonographer worklist to ensure timely patient care.

  • Operate all lab testing equipment and software packages, including ultrasound and physiological equipment, EMR, and Structured Reporting and PACS, while maintaining up-to-date maintenance logs.

  • Attend staff and departmental meetings, participate in educational conferences, and stay current with changes in the field, collecting data, images, and articles as necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Radiology or Sonography from a formal program.

  • 1 year of experience in echo sonography, performing non-invasive cardiac ultrasound studies, or equivalent experience in clinical rotations during a formal educational program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of dedicated cardiac ultrasound experience.

  • ARDMS - RDCS or CCI (RCS) certification.
