About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our echocardiography lab, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Echocardiography Exams
    • Conduct a range of echocardiography exams, including 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, and color flow Doppler imaging
    • Assist with TEE procedures as needed
    • Use independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and abnormal findings
  • Operate Lab Equipment
    • Operate all lab testing equipment and software packages, including ultrasound and physiological equipment, EMR, and Structured Reporting
    • Report any equipment issues to the appropriate personnel and remove equipment from service
  • Provide Patient Care
    • Provide quality patient care using lab physiological and ultrasound equipment
    • Assist with clinical rotations in both in-patient and out-patient settings as scheduled
  • Participate in Lab Operations
    • Participate in the daily workflow by watching the sonographer worklist to ensure timely patient care
    • Schedule exams through the transport system if applicable
    • Participate in the Lab after hours, on-call, weekend, and holiday schedules

Requirements

  • Education
    • Associates degree - Graduate of a formal Radiology or Sonography program
  • Experience
    • 1 year echo sonography experience performing non-invasive cardiac ultrasound studies
  • Certifications
    • ARDMS - RDCS or CCI (RCS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Vascular Anatomy and Hemodynamics
  • Medical Terminology
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Knowledge of Office Equipment
