Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As an Inventory Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing the flow of goods within our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify the accuracy of merchandise quantity, condition, and quality against purchase orders.
  • Receive and inspect incoming inventory, ensuring that all received items match the associated documentation and meet quality standards.
  • Manage inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and perform data entry and report generation.
  • Update our inventory system with accurate information and notes concerning received merchandise.
  • Make timely and accurate system updates.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Valid driver's license with a positive point balance and ability to safely drive a large box truck with lift gate.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with and ability to interpret packing slips.
  • Ability to correctly enter information in our computer system to acknowledge receipt of goods from purchase orders or transfer orders.
  • Ability to verify vendor item numbers and retail prices in our inventory system.
  • Efficiently operate computers and proprietary software systems.
  • Microsoft Outlook and Word experience, with Excel experience a plus.
  • Proficient typing skills a plus.
Physical Demands:
  • This position requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and reaching.
  • Heavy lifting (up to 60lbs) may be required.
  • This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers, with occasional travel to attend meetings and programs.
Compensation:

This is a non-exempt level, benefited position with an anticipated hiring range of $15.00 - $23.00 hourly, commensurate with education and experience.

This position will not sponsor applicants for work visas. The Commonwealth of Virginia will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.
