Job Summary

Are you a detail-oriented and organized individual with excellent communication skills? Do you have a passion for resolving financial discrepancies and ensuring timely payments? We are seeking a skilled Recovery Analyst to join our team at Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preserve the credit union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments, and recovering collateral.
  • Analyze financial situations of delinquent borrowers, making recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful.
  • Maintain accurate files and reports on all collections activity and update the credit union's delinquency tracking system.
  • Inform management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged-off loans.
  • Attend legal proceedings, file claims, and judgments as required.
  • Investigate and correct credit bureau discrepancies through the e-OSCAR program.
  • Work and collect negative share and share draft accounts as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements
  • Ensure timely contact of members with delinquent loans to inquire about repayment intent and initiate calls to members on a daily basis until contact is made.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all collection and recovery activity.
  • Adhere to provisions as set forth in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and ensure collection activity is always within credit union policy and all relevant regulations.
  • Enter concise, professional memos in the appropriate collections system of each contact or contact attempt.
  • Provide informed, professional assistance/support to all members and associates and troubleshoot/resolve inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
  • Comply with collection policy and act promptly when placing judgments, ordering repossessions, or starting foreclosure procedures in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
  • Actively attend and participate in assigned committee meetings and events.
  • Complete quarterly learning management modules in a timely manner with a passing grade of 90%.
Requirements
  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Meet the requirements for telecommuting work arrangement preferred.
