A Process Engineer is required to manage technical evaluations, project execution, and adherence to regulatory standards at the facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring the functionality of process computing systems, particularly focusing on Distributed Control Systems (DCS). The engineer will work closely with various teams, conducting optimization assessments and contributing to engineering initiatives aimed at enhancing processes and reducing costs.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct technical evaluations aimed at optimizing unit performance, prioritizing safety, environmental standards, reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Engage in collaborative design engineering projects to pinpoint and implement process and cost efficiencies.
- Draft Authorization for Expenditures (AFEs), Management of Change (MOC) documents, and Incident Reports concerning technical matters.
- Serve as the primary contact for technical issues within the plant, collaborating with departments such as accounting, operations, and maintenance.
- Oversee Process Safety Information and manage the status of MOC records.
- Administer and maintain process computing systems, including software updates, programming, safety system evaluations, and training sessions.
- Develop software solutions for the daily analysis of utility and raw material usage alongside production metrics.
- Coordinate with the Environmental Control department and quality assurance laboratory.
- Assist in reconciling production, utility, and raw material consumption data.
- Act as a backup for the Manufacturing Expert and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
- Ensure the submission of necessary environmental reports, particularly focusing on the N2O Project.
- Oversee the completion of regulatory reporting tasks, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product specification documentation.
- Maintain the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) for emissions reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Over 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a Chemical Processing Plant environment.
- Preferred experience in the Nitric Acid sector, familiarity with Foxboro DCS, Project Engineering experience, and leadership in projects valued under $3 million.
- Proficient in Pi software and Microsoft Office Suite.
