Job Summary

The Healthcare Support Specialist is responsible for providing respectful, resident-centered care and assistance to the resident under the supervision of a licensed nurse. They assist the resident to achieve their highest level of physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and spiritual function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct personal cares for residents at their assessed level of function under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Develop and implement Restorative/Maintenance nursing programs as developed by Nursing Rehabilitation.
  • Accurately document cares provided, resident observations, and progress.
  • Assist the resident to achieve their highest level of physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and spiritual function.
  • Contribute to a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment for residents.
  • Follow universal precautions, facility infection control guidelines, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with current standards, guidelines, state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information as required by Guardian Angels Care Center policy and procedure and as related to HIPPA.
  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Guardian Angels.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Currently registered as a Nursing Assistant with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant registry.
  • Prior nursing experience preferred.
  • Must be 16 years of age, or older.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Self-motivated, ability to prioritize.
