Position Overview:

Avantor Sciences is seeking a proactive Field Sales Specialist to enhance our presence in the Bay Area market.

This position is primarily field-based, necessitating daily in-person sales interactions to support the San Francisco/Bay Area. The Field Sales Specialist will collaborate closely with sales and support teams to ensure customer satisfaction, drive revenue growth, and achieve long-term account objectives aligned with the company's strategic vision. Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree from a recognized institution is essential; a focus in a scientific discipline is advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years in a complex sales environment is necessary, including:
    • Experience with a dynamic, collaborative, solution-oriented sales approach.
    • A demonstrated history of measurable sales success through a consultative and strategic selling methodology.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, with a preference for familiarity with technology platforms such as SAP C4C and/or Qlikview.
  • Preferred Background:
    • A background in Science or Business.
    • Sales experience in the Pharmaceutical, BioPharma, or Industrial sectors.
    • Experience in distribution.
    • Previous or current involvement in laboratory or research settings.
    • Willingness to travel within the designated territory.

Key Responsibilities:

The Field Sales Specialist will be responsible for all sales activities from lead generation to closing deals within an assigned territory, utilizing a structured selling approach. This role will develop and execute a comprehensive Operating Plan to meet both personal and organizational sales objectives.

  • Deliver VWR solutions to clients across the Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Industrial (PBI) and Academic sectors.
  • Manage a diverse customer base across various markets.
  • Identify and establish new client relationships by managing a sales pipeline and presenting tailored proposals that highlight VWR's value proposition.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the entire product line offered by VWR, regardless of market specialization.
  • Engage in consultative selling, addressing customer needs and making informed recommendations on the various solutions VWR can provide.
  • Collaborate with sales management to formulate strategic business plans aimed at achieving sales growth and meeting quotas.
  • Work alongside the sales management team to develop proposals and implement sales strategies that drive growth.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Oversee VWR's extensive product portfolio and execute company-defined sales and marketing strategies.
  • Enhance VWR's engagement with existing clients by developing retention strategies that align with evolving customer needs.
  • Utilize available resources to effectively implement the company's marketing plan, strategies, and sales processes.
  • Foster strong relationships with manufacturers and collaborate with local representatives to enhance product knowledge and improve account profitability.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation Transparency:

The anticipated pre-tax salary for this role ranges from $82,000 to $137,000. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
